Summer's kept me busy...

or maybe I'm just a lazy blogger. However I have found time for Facebooking.
I thought I would go ahead and take this opportunity to update in one fell swoop.

June

- We enjoyed a day at the park.

July

Celebrating my birthday with family and friend at TGI Friday.

Yes, I am standing on a chair singing Happy Birthday to myself in front of the whole restaurant.

As you can see this was one of my most favorite Birthday celebrations.

Track and Field

How fun is it to watch your children do everything they do. I had the most wonderful time at my son's track meet yesterday.

He participated with a local elementary school. This has been a stretch for me because I homeschool. I am used to having my children very near to me. I actually have been experiencing a process of letting them experience life without me there to cushion every blow. Things like soccer, outreach classes at GFU, and now track and field. These events have made me entrust the kids more into God's hands. Moving on...

He was able to do the shotput

the javelin throw (actually it is a turbo jav because it is not a real javelin),

the 100m dash,

and the shuttle run relay.

His favorite so far is the turbo jav.

Chores, Chores, Chores.

I have decided I need to be more consistent with my house cleaning routines. What this means for my family is they need to be more active in helping me out. I can not seem to get all the way around by myself.

Here Priscilla is making an effort to mop the diningroom floor before we get started with devotions and homeschooling.
This is a pic of Jeremiah waiting for his turn with the mop. He'll get to mop the kitchen area.

My thought is, if we can get a small chunk out of the way before we start the day, things will actually get done.

Wish me luck!

On the mend

It's been three days since Jeremiah, Priscilla and I have been on antibiotics. We are all finally starting to feel better. Sickness is sure a pain. It gets in the way of getting things done. Oh well!
In spite of all that we had our Ladies Retreat this week end.
The theme of our retreat was Encouraging One Another. Let me just say Wow!

God met me there in an amazing way. He showed me that it takes great discipline to know the difference between serving Him to be perfect and being perfected while serving Him. The first brings pride in what I can do. The latter is much more humbling, yet much more fulfulling.
